I love this poster and have pointed a few people at it. Makes it a lot easier identifying some old bits of hardware that land in our test area.

Some of what you have listed as Desktop Card Slots are also known as EDGE connectors. PCI, PCIe, and AGP are just three examples. A different variety, of many numbers of pins, are used in a lot of arduino projects as well as in some proprietary computer parts.

Oh, there's also IDC in the same sense. Commonly used with power buttons, 3.5mm audio ports, and USB ports from computer cases going to headers on motherboards.…

Very Good !!! Thanks !!

I love how you collect and compile all of these in one screen (I should say). It is so informative, despite the new ones aren't here, but that's okay. I'm going to share this to my students who also have passion to computers and wants to learn more about them.

The different type of SAS connectors and Fibre optic ports on modern workstations and servers are not the poster (yet)

User 'uneedyt' on eBay is selling (poor) reproductions of this image, with no credit whatsoever... even goes to great length to hide the fact that his "posters", as he's calling it, come from images from the net.. doesn't care about copyright.....
He's earning tons for this practice each day...
robi2106 Featured By Owner May 16, 2013
Do you need an image of the optical port for sound cards? I can provide that if needed.

Great image by the way. Thansk!
robi2106 Featured By Owner May 16, 2013
I can provide a photo of an optical audio port which I think is missing from this chart.

Fantastic work by the way.
boyzl Featured By Owner May 14, 2013

Great work [link], but I miss 13w3 graphic port [link] used by Sun Microsystems, Silicon Graphics, IBM RISC, Intergraph and some Apple Computer computer workstations; same connector was used by 3Com for a redundant PSU on the 3300 switch family. (source wikipedia: [link]

a card with 13w3 port: [link]

Since i own couple of SGI Indys in my obsolete-tech-museum i can send you hi-res pic if you want. Let me know at boyzl-dot-sand on gmail not to have issues with copyrights.

How would one go about getting a print of this chart? All I see is the option for a photo. I'd love to be able to hang this up in my workspace. :)

Hi, I would like to use your poster where I work in a computer repair shop. It will be so helpful to everybody including the young engineers. I have a similar poster from a German computer magazine and I will take a look in it for the missing images you are seeking. Thanks.

Hi! I teach "Information Technology" in Russia. In educational institutions it would be wise to hang a poster on the wall. Can translate it to other languages?
Best regards, Sergey.
